Calcined Bauxite
Chemical name : Calcined Bauxite
Chirag Fuels Manufacture a range of refractory grade Bauxites. Calcined bauxite is produced by calcining (heating) high alumina containing bauxite (55% to 60% Al2O3) at temperatures ranging from 1600 - 1650°C
Calcination removes the inert moisture and increases the alumina content by converting tri-hydrate and mono-hydrate (gibbsite and boehmite) into anhydrous aluminium oxide by expulsion of water of crystallisation – similar to a laboratory “Loss of Ignition” (LOI) test.
Abrasive Grade : -
Abrasive grade bauxite, the calcined bauxite for abrasive, the most important raw material of BFA(brown fused alumina).
Refractory Grade : -
Bauxite in the refractory industry is typically used in ladle working lining, tundish furniture, delta sections, general purpose repairment, aluminium melting furnace and mineral processing. It’s the raw material for high alumina brick, refractory castable, ramming mix, nozzle, slide gate block, refractory motar, etc.
High Friction Surfacing : -
Chirag fuels also manufacture Calcined bauxite for High friction surfacing. Calcined Bauxite can be used in pedestrian pathways and road surfacing and can be hot or cold poured onto the road preparation surface. Our Calcined Bauxites is according to standard of BBA.
